The # 11 Creative Session took place yesterday, with the presence of Gustavo Dias, President, CEO and co-founder of Stratosphere, PhD in Polymer Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minho and Ecole Nationale des Mines, Paris; Professor of applied and computational mechanics at the University of Minho.


Stratosphere, which was born by the hand of two professors from the University of Minho and is currently installed in TecPark, a technological-based incubator at Set.Up Guimarães, is a company focused on the development of solutions and products for the monitoring of critical structures and systems. The company intervenes, mainly, in markets where the structural performance requirement is critical, such as aeronautics, the aerospace sector and the railroad.


In addition to telling the story of Stratosphere, Gustavo Dias talked to the audience about the challenges and opportunities he was encountering when developing the company, as well as his contribution to the development of research and products in the area of ​​cyberphysics.


Stratosphere was part of the Portuguese consortium that developed the Perseverance capsule protection shield for the Mars 2020 mission.
