Initiative allows for answers to daily challenges, through digitization, based on data collected in urban areas.

The Urban Platform of Guimarães was presented as a good practice, in Barcelona, during the Smart City Expo World Congress, one of the main international events on smart cities and urban intelligence.

In this global barometer where new urban trends are discussed and reflected, the Urban Platform of Guimarães was presented as a good practice both in its breadth and in the main features it offers, given the information, updated in real time, from the various domains, coming from different sources such as sensors, services, and the citizen community itself.

Through the integration of these information sources and the harmonization of data, warnings about traffic movements, electric chargers, car parks, environment, events or occurrences, are some of the real-time information provided by the urban intelligence platform in Guimarães.

This initiative, already considered a “good practice” by the European Commission, was developed for the Municipality of Guimarães by Ubiwhere and allows for answers to daily challenges, through digitization, based on data collected in urban areas.

The integration of these information sources on a platform provides opportunities for real-time analysis and support for strategic decisions on quality of life and sustainability, supported by the indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals.
